Governance is important to AMPS, and a strong board has been pivotal to our company since the beginning.

The AMPS Board members come from a range of backgrounds and industries and regularly meet to ensure the business's direction remains focused on improving productivity, profitability, and sustainability for our farmers.

Kate Gunn AMPS Chairperson

Kate Gunn, Chairperson

Kate is well known to many in farming circles through her role in the family farming operations on the Liverpool Plains.

She is involved in local business networks and represents the grain industry. Kate brings to the board a strong financial background, holding a BA in Science & Commerce and a Master of Economics. She has a broad understanding of farming systems and, like all board members, brings a fresh perspective and strong skill set.



David Brownhill

Dave's key interests are no-till farming, controlled traffic farming systems, and high-value crops. 

The Brownhill family farming business focuses on dryland and irrigated grain and cotton production. David has served as a director of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) Foundation and is a past Chairman of the Nuffield Australia Board.



Steve Burt

Steve is a seasoned agribusiness professional with over 25 years experience across commodities trading, risk management, agricultural products, storage and handling, merchandise and business leadership.

The last 10 years have seen Steve as managing director of Dutch global commodities trader Nidera Group's Australian business Concordia Agritrading Pty Ltd. In 2010, Steve led the successful investment by Nidera and Toyota Toshu and held the role of managing director of PentAg Nidera Pty Ltd.

 

 

 

David Carter

Dave is well known to most shareholders as a founding Director of the company.

He was the inaugural Chairman of AMPS Commercial Pty Ltd from 2001 to 2004. Dave has a strong connection to AMPS Research and has been a critical trial cooperator and advocate of AMPS investment in production research. The outcomes of this research have directly impacted and improved his mixed farming operation at Blackville.

 

 

David Goodfellow

David has over 35 years of experience in the agricultural industry, including Chief Executive, Director and Chairman roles in some of Australia's largest and most successful agribusinesses.

David has in-depth knowledge of the metrics by which farm-supplies businesses are measured and firsthand experience developing business strategies around agricultural research and innovation. He brings a wide array of knowledge and experience from many other agricultural sectors and regions throughout Australia and globally. David also has capital management, investment, finance, regulatory compliance, audit, risk management, shareholder engagement and advocacy skills. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Agriculture), Master of Applied Science (Agriculture), and Master of Business Administration. He has also graduated from the Company Director's course, Agribusiness Mastery, Financial Planning Essential (C4) and is a Registered Representative- Sydney Futures Exchange.

 

 

Peter Weal

With almost 40 years of experience in agribusiness, Peter's strengths include managing supply chains, customer and supply relationships, agricultural production, grain marketing, financial strategy and hands-on experience in the rural agency network.

Peter is committed and excited about the future of farming in the Northwest for the next generation and beyond. He welcomes the opportunity to provide advice and utilise his knowledge to benefit AMPS Agribusiness.
